Stand Up Legend Zoe Lyons to Headline UNISON Members' Social on May 11th!

BRIGHTON & HOVE UNISON MEMBERS' SOCIAL, 7-10PM 11 MAY, EXETER STREET HALL

We are absolutely delighted that arguably our city's most famous stand-up artist and all round national treasure, Zoe Lyons, has agreed to headline a fab social evening for UNISON members on Saturday 11th May!

We are also really pleased to be supporting and holding the event at Exeter Street Hall, a venue owned and run by the community.  There will be a cheap bar and the venue is fully accessible.

It's an incredibly tough time for everyone, including our branch, but that makes it all the more important to take time out to meet up, laugh, and re-charge our batteries for our continuing work together to make change where we can and support each other.

  • Tickets are limited and going fast, to get your link to book email contact@brightonandhoveunison.org.uk*

We also want to take the opportunity to celebrate some of the amazing things the branch has achieved with you, our members, over the last year.  These include:

  • Our successful dispute on fair bank holiday pay leading to a £1m payout to 800 workers in the council, most low paid women.

  • Successful Adults Social Worker strike leading to meaningful negotiations with the employer and a potential deal that improves pay and progression.

  • Supporting our hundreds of members in the community, voluntary, private and charitable sectors, including securing improved pay offers and new recognition agreements.

  • Supporting around 700 members with everything from grievances to legal representation and organising.

  • Securing £20k of national funding to run our innovative and bold GIVEITBACK campaign against council cuts.

  • Successfully lobbying the council to adopt a confidential bullying and harassment reporting tool alongside their new bullying and harassment policy.

  • Signing up to support and donating to the MeTU movement which is fighting back against bullying and harassment of women and non binary people in the trade union movement.

*This event is only for members of Brighton & Hove UNISON and we will be checking bookings against our membership records.  Thank you :-)
