Community not Cuts Rally, Protest at City Council Meeting Thursday 30 January 3.30pm
More cuts - more job losses - less services - without a people's budget more decline is on the way for Brighton and Hove.
**COMMUNITY NOT CUTS RALLY, Protest at City Council Meeting Thursday 30 January 3.30pm**
Despite now having a Labour government, Brighton and Hove City Council is on the verge of making millions of pounds more cuts to jobs and services in the city due to budget shortfalls. With the city having lost over £110 million in funding from government since 2013, the few million provided through the recent Local Government Settlement has barely touched the sides.
Labour is telling trade unions that there must be growth before we get the public sector investment we all need. But you don't get growth on the back of an exhausted and demoralised workforce. You don't get growth when you have one in three children living in poverty. We need a people’s budget, and we need to tackle the rampant and growing wealth inequality that is blighting our country.
Join Brighton and Hove UNISON, Brighton Hove and District Trades Union Council and Collective Action Brighton and Hove to stand up for local jobs and services and support the Brighton & Hove Green Party motion to council to support our #BRINGITBACK campaign for radical reinvestment in local government.
