School staff to be consulted over action on budget cuts

Support staff in Brighton & Hove’s schools are being asked to have their say in a national consultative ballot on school budget cuts.

“We want to know what you think, and what you are prepared to do, to help us defend schools against further cuts and job losses” said Branch Secretary Sue Beatty.

“We can’t go on like this. Your school is too important to be put at risk by failing government policies, increasing workloads, funding and staffing cuts, all of which hurt support staff, teachers and of course the children.”

All Unison members in schools are urged to take part in the ballot which begins on 22nd January. Make sure the branch office has your personal email address so you can have your say. Email them on
