Angry care workers lobby Council meeting

Around 40 Unison members in Adult Social Care joined service users in protesting against council plans to cut or privatise Learning Disabilities Accommodation Service and the Tower House Day Service.  These services are vital to some of the most vulnerable people in the city.

Passing motorists hooted their support.

Nevertheless councillors voted to open 3-month “consultation periods” on these proposals, with the clear implication that they’ve already decided to shut them down.

The fight will go on.
