Branch votes no, but national vote is to accept pay offer

Despite an overwhelming vote from Brighton & Hove Unison branch members to reject the derisory pay offer of just over 2% over two years, Unison members nationally have voted to accept.
In Brighton & Hove the vote was 551 to reject with 324 voting to accept. The turnout of eligible voters represented a relatively healthy 25%, compared with much lower turnouts in recent ballots.
But sadly the national vote in the consultative ballot, announced by Unison’s national leadership on Thursday, indicated acceptance of the offer. As yet no national voting figures have been issued.
